Which Apple ID should I buy Sip Happens with?
For the simplest experience, buy it using the Apple ID on the device your child will use. If your child has their own iPhone and Apple ID, buy it on their iPhone with their Apple ID.
My child has their own Apple ID. What do I do?
Install Sip Happens on your child's device using their Apple ID. For one child, buy the one-child version on their device. For more children, subscribe to Family+; each child installs Sip Happens with their own Apple ID, and Apple Family Sharing shares Family+ with them.
Do I need Family+?
No. The one-child purchase includes one profile with the Cat and Dog Buddies. Family+ is optional and adds more child profiles, the Premium Buddies and Apple Family Sharing.
What if I only have one child?
The one-child purchase is all you need: one profile, the Cat and Dog Buddies, Apple Watch support, and Adult Mode controls on that device.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. Subscribe to Family+ anytime. Your child's Buddy, goal, reminders and progress stay exactly as they are, and you gain more profiles and the Premium Buddies.
Can grandparents buy Sip Happens?
Yes. Anyone can buy the one-child version for a child using the Apple ID on that child's device. For Family+, the family organiser subscribes once and Apple Family Sharing shares it with everyone in the Apple Family, grandparents included.
Can every child have their own Buddy?
Yes. With Family+, every child has their own Buddy, their own goal, their own reminders and their own progress.
Can siblings use the same Buddy?
Yes. Two children can each choose the same kind of Buddy, for example both a Dragon, and name it their own. Each child's Buddy and progress stay separate.
What happens if Family+ expires?
Nothing is lost. All your children's data is kept safe. Family+ features pause until you resume, and one child stays fully active in the meantime. A child who already has a Premium Buddy keeps it, and you can choose Premium Buddies again once Family+ resumes.
How much does it cost?
The current price for the app and for Family+ shows on the App Store and in the app before you buy, so there are no surprises. Family+ is a yearly subscription you can cancel anytime.
Is my child's progress private?
Yes. Each child's progress stays private on their own device. A grown-up sets the goal and reminders in Adult Mode; the sips a child logs are theirs and are never sent to a parent or to us.
Are there ads or tracking?
No. No advertising, no third-party tracking, no child accounts. Data lives on the device and in your family's private iCloud.
Does Sip Happens work with Apple Watch?
Yes, with both the one-child version and Family+. A child can log a quick Small Sip or Big Sip from their own Apple Watch.
What if my child gets a new iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple ID on the new iPhone and reinstall Sip Happens. Your child's profile and progress sync back through their private iCloud.
What if we buy another Apple Watch?
Assign the new Apple Watch to a child in Adult Mode. A Watch belongs to one child at a time, and the sips logged on it count for that child.
Can I move Sip Happens to a new device later?
Yes. On a device signed in with the same Apple ID, reinstall Sip Happens and your child's data syncs back through their private iCloud. For Family+, tap Restore Purchases if the subscription doesn't appear right away.
